Bred and Raised in Kentucky

What is Kentucky Orandas?

Owned and operated by Cheyenne Barnett, Kentucky Orandas is a one-woman-show. Being a full-time nursing student, Kentucky Orandas is a side hobby and one of Cheyenne's greatest passions. U.S. breed goldfish is the best option for goldfish keepers. Importing goldfish has risks and has the potential to wipe out entire stock, if not quarantined properly, due to costia, tuberculosis, and herpes virus. Our parent fish were born and raised in the United States. All juvenile goldfish sold from our location are bred and raised in Central Kentucky.

About Cheyenne

Cheyenne has been keeping goldfish for twenty years. It all started at the age of two, when her parents bought a young fantail at the local Walmart. He would later be named Johnny and would live to be fourteen years old, before passing a few months after Cheyenne's sixteenth birthday.

After mourning the loss of her first pet, Cheyenne took a break from goldfish keeping. It wasn't until the summer of 2016, that a friend was trying to rehome a 30 gallon freshwater community tank. After some thought, Cheyenne adopted the fish and made room for her first aquarium after Johnny's death.

Remembering how much she enjoyed taking care of fish, Cheyenne decided she needed another aquarium and more fish. By January of 2017, Cheyenne had a 60 gallon tank and had reentered the goldfish keeping hobby.

Now, with seven aquariums and countless fry tubs, Cheyenne is back in the aquatics hobby and more dedicated than ever.
